Flexible Couplings
The "Flexible Coupling" field is the most comprehensive when it comes to shaft couplings.
The pictures above (along with their page links) are certainly the most common, along with a significant number of hybrid within each specific type.
The generally
accepted names of the couplings shown are (from left to right and top to bottom):
Jaw Coupling ~ one of the least expensive and highly used types.
Grid Coupling ~ made famous by Falk, it's a heavily used coupling in industry. Requires lubrication.
Chain Coupling ~ the
photo doesn't show it but most (if not all) will have a cage around the chain.
Gear Coupling ~ also heavily used in industry. Requires lubrication.
Disc Coupling ~ positive torque transmission and no lubrication.
Tire Coupling ~ flexibility and handles misalignment
well.
By clicking on any of the photos, you will be taken to the detail page for that coupling type.
Let A.R.&E. assist you in your selection of the coupling for your next project. And if it requires Laser Alignment (which we recommend for ALL installations), our Field Service technicians are there to service those needs, too.
